Here’s an early heads-up for the sixth annual Audrey Jessup Award for Best Crime Short Story Contest. The deadline isn’t until April 1st, 2005, but it’s never too soon to get started. Prizes abound but the real incentive is a chance to strut your stuff at the Ottawa Literary Awards Ceremony to be held at the National Library in May.

Your story should be:

Fiction featuring a crime
No more than 3,500 words
In English
Typed double spaced on white paper, on one side only
Without any author identifying information on pages containing the story.

You may email your story submission to contest@capitalcrimewriters.ca. Stories should be sent in MSWord or RTF attachment. In the Subject box type "Contest". When you receive your confirmation email, you will need to mail in your entrance fee ($15.00 if you wish it critiqued, $5.00 if not) in the form of a cheque made payable to "Capital Crime Writers" to:
The Audrey Jessup Award
34 Crichton Street
Ottawa , ON, K1M 1V4
