The Cult of David Thompson

the snow is
this snow, that snow
very snow, big snow
snowy snow
[someone says, hard pack, ice-crust
angel light
duster ice, man killing, the drift,
swallowing one big evanescence...]
where here there is pure white, but what will the snow know there
beyond C, when my colour falters, lies, will there will be pure white
when i make C, what of the water's song?
but
the snow will always remember those songs
will haunt us with memory
