TORONTO - Vancouver writer Charles Montgomery has won the 2005 Charles Taylor Prize, an annual award that celebrates Canadian literary non-fiction.
Organizers of the prize, established in memory of the late essayist and writer Charles Taylor, presented Montgomery with the $25,000 honour Monday for The Last Heathen: Encounters with Ghosts and Ancestors in Melanesia.
