TORONTO - Alice Munro and Wayson Choy were among the authors named Thursday to the short list of one of Canada's richest literary awards, the Giller Prize.

They are joined by Shauna Singh Baldwin, nominated for The Tiger Claw, and Pauline Holdstock for Beyond Measure. Rounding out the list are Paul Quarrington, given the nod for Galveston, and Miriam Toews, for A Complicated Kindness.
