HAMMERED OUT (Hamilton's New Literary Journal):

Issue #4: will be launched: September 26, 2pm at the Burlington
Arts Centre (Lakeshore Rd, Burlington). Come and pick up your
FREE copy and listen to contributors read. This issue
commemorates the first year anniversary of Hammered Out.
Hammered Out Live (the CD) will be also available at the launch (for
purchase).

Issue 4.5, Short Fiction Special: will appear in Nov/Dec. 2004.
Submission deadline for short fiction (4,000 words or less) is Oct.
1/04. This issue will not be a free issue and may become an
annual special (and hopefully a fundraiser for H.O. projects &
events)

Issue #5: will appear in Jan/Feb. 2005 and is a theme issue (poetry
only) devoted to love (the good, the bad & the ever popular "ugly").
Submission deadline for poetry is Dec. 1/04.

SUBSCRIPTIONS: -$15 a year (3 regular
issues...January/May/September).
Special issues extra.

-$5 for sample copy

AD SPACE: - $20 for a standard business card sized space

- $50 for a half page. (Other sizes & options, ie. Inserts, are
negotiable.)

SUBMISSIONS: must be good. Previously unpublished is preferred
but not strictly enforced. Poems can be short or long, fiction is
limited to 4,000 words. The guidelines have been relaxed to include
submissions from those other than the dedicated inhabitants of
these "mean streets", i.e. those who are connected to Hamilton in
some way other than taxationally. Writers who grew up in
Hamilton; writers who studied/study in Hamilton; writers
who love Hamilton; writers who hate Hamilton; writers who visit
Hamilton for whatever reason. We know you can think of
something. (By the way, submissions do NOT have to be ABOUT
Hamilton.) Payment for inclusion is one copy of the journal mailed
to the destination of your choice. E-mail attachment submissions
preferred. Mail a hard copy as well if you have specific fomat
concerns. ALWAYS include a brief bio (ie. 50 words) with
each submission and mention your connection to Hamilton
(however flimsy.) Also please do not send more than 5 poems at a
time.
