Capital Crime Writers Meeting
May 12th, 2004 - 7:00 pm at the National Library (Room 156)
Pssst, want to know about the latest trends in mysteries and crime writing?
Want to know what's hot, what's not and what's coming next? Then don't miss the May 12th panel discussion featuring Linda Wiken of Prime Crime Books, Michael Murphy of the Ottawa Public Library and Michael Steinberg, Associate Editor at Storyteller Magazine.
Linda Wiken will talk about mystery trends from her perspective as a bookseller and an editor of the Ladies' Killing Circle short story anthologies. Michael Murphy will share information about the types of mysteries that are popular with Ottawa Public Library patrons and how the library chooses mysteries for its shelves. Mike Steinberg will look at trends in mystery short stories as a result of his work with Storyteller Magazine and a judge of submissions for the Audrey Jessup Award for Best Crime Short Story.
There will be time to get your questions answered about mystery trends and whether you should follow the herd or write what appeals to you.
Don't miss what promises to be a popular discussion on a timely topic!
