Capital Crime Writers
March 10th, 7:00 pm
Room 156, National Library
www.capitalcrimewriters.ca

The March 10th meeting of Capital Crime Writers will be of
interest to writers of historical fiction and non-fiction.
We're delighted to have two archivists from the National
Archives with us for the evening. They will be giving us a
presentation and a tour of the Archives, focussing
specifically on researching areas of interest to crime
writers, including court cases, violent crimes and scandals.
The types of materials available in the archives ranges from
personal diaries and letters to official government records,
but finding the information isn't always easy. They're going
to share their knowledge, experience and tricks with us.

Archivist Amy Tector is currently the National Archives
health archivist, but has also worked in the photography,
manuscripts and reference services sections. Sandy Ramos is
a reference archivist but is also pursuing a Ph.D. at
Queen's University. Her interest is in sexual assault cases
in Montreal in the 1800s, so she is very familiar with crime
related documents.

Everyone Welcome
