japh writing intro

gibberish that passes as biographical info:

i'm a 29 year old vancouverite who works more than full-time at a non-literary job.

most recent writing not featured on this site includes a book of poetry on the downtown eastside (eastside) that i'm trying to find a publisher for. i've also just finished writing a play that probably won't resemble a play after i've finished editing it. i'm working on a couple of novels at the moment that are closer to resembling novels than anything else i've written. we'll see.

for the past six years i've edited canadian content, which features articles, reviews, interviews and other spiffy stuff. as well, i helped create CanTeach, a resource site with hundreds of lesson plans and thousands of links which are aimed at educators. one of my most ridiculous online projects is the online guide to writing in canada.

an outline of the works herein:

stop. stop go is a prose/poem dealing with daily transit. it highlights the thoughts and feelings of both the narrator and those around on the daily commute. snippets of conversation, strange glances, and streaming thoughts abound.

gumbo grim is about a character trying to escape the department of poetry and prose. he wants out of the plot running business, but they won't let him out of making novels that easily.

comatose down for edits.

cutups 1-200 is composed of 7-10 line 'poems' pulled out of a hat. each line was written on its own in succession, and then the lines were cut up and reconstituted.

untitled 1-120 consists primarily of short poems and notes.

the short stories section contains, well, short stories. will be added to as time permits.

and the fragments are put online as they happen, every few days or so.

finally, here are some ramblings, updated erratically.
