if you are looking at getting away from it all, you may be consider purchasing a private island in british columbia.

this is one of those things i've wondered about. now i know, it is indeed possible to purchase an island in bc. besides the obvious issues with shelter, water supply, sanitation, power, communication and easy transport in case of an emergency, this is a great idea. if i had half a million to drop on some real estate i'd be totally for this (if i had some cash left over after paying off my student loans).
